{Baby Kaiden is here, 2/10/2012}

I have described my friendship with Stephanie as “unlikely friends”.  And I continue to view our friendship as just that. But walking with her (and Richie) through this pregnancy has enriched our unlikely friendship!  We had such a good time taking maternity photos and they turned out beautiful. And to be blessed to share in the birth of Kaiden is beyond description. Stephanie and Richie had to be at the hospital bright and early in the morning. For those who know me, early morning and ‘dmoore’ do not mix well. So, I met up with them later, which worked out best because all the preparation work did not need to be photographed.
So “our” day together started around 8:15 am. But let me backtrack a little to set up this scenario. The beginning of our unlikely friendship began 3 years ago at our place of employment. And this wonderful friendship includes our friend, Lori. And Lori was the laboring nurse with Stephanie. We were back together! Working together for a common cause!  But each of us had our roles. Lori was focused on patient care. I was focused on being “focused” and Stephanie was focused on delivering a baby!
As each hour passed, Stephanie was getting tired and baby Kaiden was not happy. Stephanie had to turn on her side many times to try and help baby Kaiden. Mid to late afternoon, Stephanie was exhausted and was almost asleep.  Stephanie’s doctor came in to check on her and Kaiden. It was decided; time to go for a c-section. And that is where my birthing photography ended. This has been by far my most favorite photo shoot. I hope to do many more in the future!

I visited Stephanie on Saturday and met Kaiden for the first time. And of course, took his picture. So, let me introduce you to Kaiden.
